I look forward to buying a copy. Very exciting! And something about this whole thing brought to mind a song from my formative years, very influential in my development as a young man. Pathetic, huh?
Great cover! Now I will have to read the book to see if someone fell into BAD ICE, or if someone's nickname is "Bad Ice," or there was poison in BAD ICE. One way or the other it looks intriguing. Congrats on getting a great book cover. As always, Champagne Books is out front in the art department.
I was just at a fundraiser tonight and had donated my first book, The Space Between. There was a bidding war and it went for twice the eleven dollar value. Ha!
With my first book, the artist was totally open to my input and allowed me to take a major role in its design. With this book, I sent in my suggestions (the dark frozen pond, the maple leaf) and Chris Butt used many elements I had suggested. The 'melting ice' font was his idea.
As a former commercial artist, I'm not at all wild about that typeface. But I do like the moody winter scene, just don't think the font fits the image.

Ah, the MacKenzie Brothers! Not pathetic at all.
Geddy Lee's mom used to run a discount store on Main Street here in town.
We have the CD of The Great White North. I also have a DVD copy of Strange Brew.
Wow, love it! Look forward to reading it!
Eeee! So pretty! (And so very Canadian; I love it!)
And you met Geddy Lee's mom? *adulates you*
Um. Yeah. I'm a bit of a Rush fangirl. :-D
Looks great. I look forward to reading it.

Quite lovely. Love the overcast, foreboding vibe.
Thanks, everyone!

Very cool! And a little spooky.
When does it come out?
I really love the cover! It invites an opening of the pages.
When does this come out?
It's due out as an e-book in July and hopefully in print by hockey season. The next one, that is!
Wow! Did you have any say or creative input on what the cover art would look like, since you are an artist yourself?
Oh wow, this is a great cover! It has a mysterious, alluring feel to it. Verra nice.

OMG, it DOES look like a beer commercial. Great that you've got it though...Congrats.
